Green tea: A smart sip for your body and brain

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen highlights the benefits of this powerful drink.

May 12, 2025 by Strategic Communication

Green tea has earned its place as one of the healthiest beverages you can drink and for good reasons.

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen explains in a recent Martha Stewart article how green tea offers more than just a refreshing sip. She highlights green tea’s unique mix of caffeine and L-theanine, a combination that boosts energy. It is also rich in antioxidants, which help protect the body, reduce inflammation and support healthy aging.

Allen is also a clinical associate professor of nutrition and dietetics in the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University.
