How exercise helps lower cholesterol

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen shares her insights.

Exercise does more than improve fitness. It also supports heart health. 

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen explains in a recent USA Today article how exercise helps lower LDL cholesterol, the “bad” cholesterol linked to heart disease. While diet plays a crucial role, combining exercise with healthy eating helps protect against heart disease and stroke. 

Allen is also a clinical associate professor of nutrition and dietetics in the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University.
