As a speech-language pathologist, Dr. Julie Masterson has long been curious about the relationship between reading, spelling and speaking. To better understand what kids need to learn and how best to teach them, Masterson designed tailored interventions based on how children spell various types of words.
Speech, spelling, reading and phonics: They are all interrelated and essential to academic success. Dr. Julie Masterson is an expert in the field of communication sciences and specifically on teaching children to spell.
The Missouri State University School of Social Work received a continuation of the Title IV-E MSW program grant. This will provide approximately $31,000 to the department to cover costs for eligible students.
