The smart way to use apple cider vinegar

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen explains.

May 4, 2026 by Strategic Communication

Apple cider vinegar has gained attention for its potential health benefits, but experts stress moderation and realistic expectations.

In a recent Martha Stewart article, registered dietitian Natalie Allen shares that apple cider vinegar can support blood sugar regulation, cholesterol management and gut health, but it is not a cure-all.

She notes that while some studies suggest benefits, the overall impact is limited. A balanced diet rich in fiber, healthy fats and whole foods remains the best foundation for long-term health.

Allen is also a clinical associate professor of nutrition and dietetics in the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University.
