What happens when you eat beans daily

Registered dietitian Stephanie Mitchell Urich shares some insights.

Beans are a reliable and affordable source of plant-based protein.  

In a recent Martha Stewart article, registered dietitian Stephanie Mitchell Urich explains how bean fiber feeds gut bacteria and may lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol over time. To avoid bloating, she recommends increasing beans gradually and drinking plenty of water. 

Urich is also a clinical instructor of nutrition and dietetics in the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University.
