The power of pairing calcium and vitamin D

Registered dietitian Natalie Allen shares some insights.

August 21, 2025 by Strategic Communication

Calcium gives bones their structure and strength, while vitamin D helps your body absorb it. Together, these nutrients build strong bones, improve absorption and reduce the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.

Allen is also a clinical associate professor of nutrition and dietetics in the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University.
