Two teacher consultants with the Ozarks Writing Project have been nominated for Teacher of the Year with Springfield Public Schools the past two years:

• Thomas Maerke, communications arts teacher for Pleasant View Middle School, was nominated for the 2014-2015 school year
• Gretchen Teague, communications arts teacher for Central High School, was nominated for the 2015-2016 school year

The OWP is  housed in the English Department within the College of Arts and Letters, as a collaborative program between Missouri State University and the National Writing Project (NWP), the premier effort to improve writing in America.
