Metropolitan Community College (MCC) students can now enjoy a seamless pathway to earn Missouri State University degrees.
Missouri State President Clif Smart and MCC Chancellor Dr. Kimberly Beatty met at MCC Nov. 1 to sign the agreement.
Under this agreement, the two institutions will work together to develop transfer plans for MCC students who want to earn a bachelor’s degree at Missouri State – either online or at the Springfield campus.
Students who complete an associate degree at MCC will be guaranteed admission at Missouri State.
“Missouri State and MCC are both committed to providing accessible and affordable higher education opportunities to more students,” Beatty said. “This partnership helps our two colleges reach that important goal by creating a clear, seamless, lower-cost avenue to a four-year degree.”
About transfer 2+2 plans
The transfer 2+2 plans offer a clear pathway to a bachelor’s degree and ensure students meet program requirements. Students will also be assured that their credits transfers seamlessly from MCC to Missouri State.
Ultimately, students can save time and money with these transfer 2+2 plans.
“Missouri State is pleased to partner with Metropolitan Community College to help their students complete a bachelor’s degree with us,” Smart said. “Whether students want to take classes in person in Springfield or online, this agreement will make it easy for them to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years.”
Transfer scholarships can reduce costs further
Missouri State offers several scholarships for transfer students.
A new scholarship – the MoState Access Award – is for Missouri residents who are eligible for Pell Grants. Eligible students won’t pay any tuition or fees at Missouri State.
