Do mosquitoes spread COVID-19?

Entomologist Dr. David Claborn explains why they don’t.

According to a new study from Kansas State University, mosquitoes cannot transmit the virus responsible for COVID-19. It was published in Scientific Reports on July 17.

Dr. David Claborn, an entomologist and master of public health program director at Missouri State University, shares with Verywell Health why the anatomy and physiology of the mosquito is not conducive to transmitting COVID-19.
