For most runners, running is not only exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but it also is a stress management tool. When plagued with an injury, most runners eagerly anticipate the time when they can run again without pain. Dr. James Hackney, associate professor of physical therapy at Missouri State University, has published research about factors that influence movement and forces in running and jumping, and offers tips for runners about resuming a routine.
