The MSU system and Springfield campus reach new milestones.

September 25, 2024 by Strategic Communication

Missouri State University in Springfield set a new enrollment record this fall with 25,038 students enrolled on census day, Sept. 23.

The Missouri State system, which also includes Missouri State University-West Plains, set a new record as well with 26,874 enrolled at the two campuses.

The Springfield campus had a 3.3% increase in first-time students and a 4% increase in continuing students.

The number of underrepresented students increased by 9.3% to a total of 3,983 students.

Enrollment on the MSU-West Plains campus was up 9.2% to 1,942.

Total system enrollment is 26,874, up 939 or 3.6%. A total of 106 students were enrolled on both campuses and were only counted once in the system total.

Students come from 113 counties and an independent city in Missouri; 50 states plus the District of Columbia; territories of Guam and Puerto Rico and military locations; and 97 other countries.

“We’re thrilled to see record enrollment across our campuses,” said Missouri State President Dr. Richard B. Williams. “This growth, especially in underrepresented students, reflects our commitment to excellence and inclusivity. It’s a testament to our dedicated faculty, strong programs and the trust students place in Missouri State to provide a transformative education.”
