Missouri State celebrates new Collaborative Care Clinic

The renovated space unites hands-on learning and community care.

February 20, 2026 by Strategic Communication

Missouri State University celebrated the grand opening of its new Collaborative Care Clinic in Ann Kampeter Health Sciences Hall during a Feb. 20 ceremony.

The opening marks a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to interprofessional education and community-centered health care.

The clinic, which opened its doors on Jan. 26, brings together multiple clinical services in a modern, centralized facility designed to enhance student learning and expand access to essential care for Springfield and surrounding areas.

“This space reflects how health care is delivered in today’s world, through collaboration,” said Dr. Letitia White-Minnis, associate dean of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services. “By learning and working alongside other disciplines, our students gain a deeper understanding of patient needs while strengthening the support we provide to individuals and families in our community.”
A central feature of the clinic is its interprofessional approach. Graduate students from programs including speech-language pathology, counseling, audiology and psychology provide services under direct faculty supervision. This model allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings while meeting community health needs.

Under one roof

The 17,000-square-foot space repurposes the former Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and adjacent areas on the first floor of Kampeter Hall into a collaborative clinical environment that supports coordinated care across disciplines.

The clinic will offer:

  • Counseling services
  • Speech-language pathology diagnostics and treatment
  • Hearing and balance testing
  • Hearing aid services
  • Psychological and learning diagnostic services

By housing these services in one location, the clinic simplifies access for patients who previously may have needed to visit multiple offices. A shared check-in area, unified waiting space and coordinated staffing help streamline the patient experience.

Serving campus and community

The clinic welcomes patients of all ages from the university and the broader Springfield community. It is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays.

The new facility reflects Missouri State’s continued investment in workforce-ready education and public affairs, connecting students’ professional preparation directly to meaningful service in southwest Missouri.
