To celebrate the completion of the Billy Long Advanced Technology Suites at the Roy Blunt Jordan Valley Innovation Center, Missouri State University hosted a naming ceremony today, Oct. 14.
The new research and development space is about 12,000 square feet and will support additional JVIC corporate partners. Located on the third floor of the 30,000-square-foot Brewer Science Innovation Annex, this addition was made possible by $2 million in congressional funding secured by former Missouri U.S. Rep. Billy Long.
“We’re grateful to former congressman Long for his leadership and help in securing the funds for this project,” said President Richard B. Williams. “His support ensures Missouri State continues to be a hub for innovation, collaboration and economic growth.”
In the Advanced Technology Suites are research and manufacturing labs, office and conference space, and amenities to accommodate three corporate partners.
“This expansion allows JVIC to meet the growing technology development needs of our partners while providing interdisciplinary educational experiences for students,” said Allen Kunkel, associate vice president for economic development and JVIC director at Missouri State.
