Ring in the Year of the Snake with Missouri State University. 

This year’s Chinese New Year runs from Jan. 29-Feb. 12. The celebration on campus will take place Jan. 30-31 and is free and open to the public. 

Celebrated across China and many other Asian cultures, Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is a time of joy, renewal and tradition. This vibrant festival follows the lunar calendar and marks the transition from winter to spring. 

“The Chinese New Year celebration on our campus goes beyond festivities — it bridges cultures and fosters understanding. Featuring tea culture, Chinese calligraphy and more, the event offers a vivid experience of Chinese traditions,” said Yi Wu, marketing and recruitment specialist in MSU’s international programs.  

“This open-to-all event reflects the university’s commitment to cultural competence and community engagement. It’s a chance for Chinese students to share their heritage, while feeling at home.”
