Ozarks Public Television (OPT), a pillar of visual storytelling and cultural enrichment, proudly announces its golden jubilee celebration as it marks 50 years of broadcasting excellence.
Since its inception in 1975, OPT has provided a trusted home in the Ozarks for television programming that informs, entertains and inspires.
OPT has delivered unparalleled programming that expands the minds of children, documentaries that open new worlds, non-commercial news programs that keep residents informed on world events and cultures, and programs that expose the region to the worlds of music, theater, dance and art.
Over the past five decades, OPT has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of its audience while staying true to public television’s core values. These include providing programming and services of the highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain and express a diversity of perspectives. Through its diverse range of programming, the station has cultivated meaningful connections with viewers, sparking conversations and fostering understanding across communities.
As OPT celebrates this significant milestone, it reflects on its rich history of broadcasting excellence and looks forward to continuing its mission of serving as a trusted source of news and culture for generations to come. The station expresses gratitude to its loyal viewers, dedicated staff and caring community for their unwavering support throughout the years.
