Missouri State University invites alumni and friends to come home to campus to celebrate Homecoming Oct. 28-29.
“The Alumni Association is thrilled to welcome alumni and friends back to campus for an exciting Homecoming weekend,” said Michaela Bennett, assistant director, college and constituency engagement of alumni relations at Missouri State.
“With a multitude of events occurring, Bears of all ages are able to reconnect, reminisce on fond memories and create new ones.”

50-year anniversary (class of 1972), 10:30a.m., Kentwood Hall
Reunite with former classmates, renew your Bear spirit and revel in the memories you made 50 years ago. Register with the Alumni Association.
2022 Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 4:00p.m., Plaster Student Union
This event celebrates former faculty and staff members who have excelled at Missouri State and significantly contributed to the success and positive collegiate experience of students.
Oct. 29
Breakfast with Boomer, 10 a.m., Foster Recreation Center
After the parade, bring the entire family to meet Boomer and enjoy a spirited breakfast and kid-friendly activities. Enjoy good food and get your picture with Boomer. Event costs $10 for children and $15 for adults (advance registration). Seats are limited, so register today.
Golden Bears Reunion Luncheon, 10:30 a.m., Plaster Student Union Ballroom
This is an exclusive lunch for Golden Bears (all alumni who graduated from or last attended Missouri State 50 or more years ago). Register with the Alumni Association.
Tailgate at Bearfest Village, 11 a.m., BearFest Village (north of Plaster Stadium)
Before the football game, enjoy food, music and fun. Campus organizations and departments will host tents for you to visit. Connect with your alma mater and meet up with classmates and visit over food, drinks and games at the Alumni Association tailgate.
Bears Football vs Western Illinois, 2 p.m., Plaster Stadium
Support the Bears football team and see the Homecoming crowning at halftime. Tickets range from $14-$29.
The Celebration
Join Missouri State and the Missouri State Foundation for The Celebration at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at Great Southern Bank Arena to celebrate the largest campaing in the university’s history.
The event will be hosted by actor, alumnus and campaign chair John Goodman, which will include:
- A warm-up performance by award-winning band KC FLO from Kansas City, Missouri.
- A special musical set and performance by Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and voice actress Tori Kelly. Kelly lent her vocals as Meena in “Sing” (2016) and “Sing 2” (2021)
- Special appearances, collaborations and performances by the MSU grand chorus, MSU Pride Band and color guard, and other notable guests.
No ticket is required to attend The Celebration. The doors open to the public at 7 p.m. and showtime is approximately 7:30 p.m.
Free swag will be offered to the first 2,500 guests.
