Board of Governors elects new officers for 2021

Counts, Silvey will be chair, vice-chair in 2021.

The Missouri State University Board of Governors elected new officers during its regular meeting Oct. 16.

Amy Counts, St. Louis, was elected chair. Carol Silvey, West Plains, was elected vice-chair.

Counts is a senior account executive for Wise F&I. She serves as a board member for St. Louis Artworks and has a bachelor’s degree in hospitality restaurant administration, which is now known as hospitality leadership, from Missouri State.

Silvey was vice president for advancement at the Ozarks Medical Center Foundation. She also worked at Missouri State University-West Plains for 38 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri State and master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri.

The terms for the new officers will begin Jan. 1, 2021.
