October is LGBTQ+ History Month.

Celebrate LGBTQ+ pride in October

MSU to host virtual and in-person pride events throughout the month.

This October, LGBTQ+ History Month will look different at Missouri State — but we will still celebrate.

Multicultural programs, along with other campus organizations, will host talks, trainings and celebrations mostly on Zoom. In-person events will follow all university safety precautions.

Calendar of events

Oct. 2

A common thread: A discussion about the interconnectedness of the global LGBTQIA+ community, 5 p.m., Zoom.

Oct. 6

Skyler Jay from “Queer Eye,” 7 p.m., Plaster Student Union (PSU) Theater.

Oct. 13

Pride, praise and protest: A liberate worship experience, 8 p.m., PSU Theater.

Oct. 14

Safe zone training, 1 p.m., Zoom.

Oct. 21

Presentation: Springfield Police LGBTQ liaison officer, 2 p.m., Zoom.

Oct. 23

Drag show: “Kings and Queens of the North Mall,” 5 p.m., North Mall.

Oct. 29

Presentation: Trans and LGBTQ+ activist CeCe McDonald, 6 p.m., Zoom.

LGBTQ+ History Month is co-sponsored by Ekklesia, MSU Residence Hall Association and the GLO Center.
