Fact checking Trump’s claim about his Turkey deal

Middle East politics expert Dr. David Romano weighs in.

Last week, President Donald Trump’s administration made a deal with Turkey to suspend its military operations in northeast Syria for five days. After the deal was made, President Donald Trump claimed previous administrations had tried to make this deal for “10 years” or “15 years.”

Middle eastern affairs and foreign policy experts such as Dr. David Romano, Thomas G. Strong professor of middle east politics at Missouri State University, tells CNN why President Trump’s claim doesn’t make any sense.
