Online MBA in cybersecurity gets high marks

The program at MSU ranks at the top of 2018 list.

June 12, 2018 by Strategic Communication

Online MBA Today recognized Missouri State University’s online MBA with a graduate certificate in cybersecurity as number two in the country.

The ranking guide states that MSU’s “high quality cybersecurity program stands out with a rigorous curriculum and national recognition.”

Ranking highlights

The program ranked highly for its convenience, flexibility and affordability. It also offers graduates a strong return on the investment of education.

How the ranking is determined

Online MBA Today evaluated almost 470 online and hybrid MBA programs. It assessed each program first for cybersecurity-focused curriculum, and then these four factors:

  • Estimated tuition cost (25 percent)
  • Accreditation (25 percent)
  • Early Career Salary (25 percent)
  • Prestige (25 percent)

All of the data for each factor was weighted equally, averaged and calculated on a 100-point scale. MSU achieved a score of 98.95.

About the program

The 33-credit hour program can be completed 100 percent online. It includes hands-on labs to teach students how to secure and defend information systems from malicious attackers.
