A different kind of Jihadist

New faculty member provides editorial on Zakir Naik.

When terrorist attacks happen, government officials and the general public demand justice.

Such is the case with Zakir Naik, a doctor turned televangelist, who became a target of suspicion after the worst terrorist attack in Bangladesh’s history last July. The five militants who killed 29 individuals were found to be fans and followers of Naik.

Dr. Matthew Kuiper, assistant professor of religious studies, provided his thoughts into the teachings and public perception of Naik in Open.
