Citizenship & Service Learning Conference on Civic Engagement 20Missouri State University has been selected by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Foundation to be a lead consulting institution in their Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) initiative for the third year in a row.

The Center for Community Engagement (CCE), co-directed by Kathy Nordyke and Alex Johnson, will once again coordinate communication and development opportunities among a cohort of universities committed to making civic learning and democratic engagement an essential element in every student’s experience.

In a letter from the assistant director for knowledge communities and CLDE initiatives at NASPA, Missouri State was recognized for its “continued efforts to improve institutional programming.”

“We’re excited to begin our third year as a lead consulting institution, serving eight universities throughout the U.S.,” said Johnson. “Our role has been to guide and provide insight for those universities in expanding opportunities across campuses to engage students, faculty, staff and administration.”
