Two Missouri State University biology students from Dr. John Havel’s lab presented research on professional meetings this fall:
- Adrienne Gemberling presented her research titled “Interactions among invasive species in Midwestern lakes: a mesocosm experiment” at the Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference in Duluth, Minnesota.
- Kristopher Maxson presented his research titled “Trophic interactions and the efficacy of the milfoil weevil (Euhrychiopsis lecontei) as biocontrol of Eurasian water-milfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum)” at the annual meeting of the North American Lake Management Society, in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Day Ligon, associate professor of biology, received a two-year funding renewal with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation for the project titled “Assessing the Extent and Density of Chicken Turtle Populations in Southeastern Oklahoma.” Financial support for this publication was provided by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation through the State Wildlife Grant F13AF01189 (T-75-1) and Missouri State University.
