Missouri State University’s mathematics department received a $36,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Education for ITQG Student Support. This grant comes from collaboration with the University of Missouri in Columbia.

“It provides some much needed tuition support for practicing — likely underpaid — teachers who are pursuing a new state certification for ‘Elementary Mathematics Specialist’ in grades 1-6. The grant focuses on teachers from ‘high-need’ districts where math expertise and resources tend to be a challenge.” said Dr. Kurt Killion, professor of mathematics.
