The Bear Line shuttle plays a key role in the Missouri State University experience. It offers a free and safe way for students to travel across campus.
Eyeing speed and efficiency, Missouri State is making improvements to the Bear Line to meet students’ needs.
Rebranding will improve two areas of the Bear Line – route systems and buses.
“Our main reason for updating our buses and route system is to improve our timeliness,” said John Matthews, MSU transportation director. “We know students are busy, and by introducing faster buses and route shortcuts, we will be able to accommodate our students’ busy schedules.”
About the rebrand
The Bear Line will introduce a new line of buses, the Bear Line ShuttleKart. The Bear Line ShuttleKart will travel at a faster rate and will transport three students at a time.
When designing the new buses, mechanics advised including slick tires to deliver a strong performance all year round. These tires are equipped with turbo booster sensors to guarantee a safe and efficient ride, as well as provide advanced steering technology for maximum maneuverability.
“Over the holiday break, our drivers attended a two-week driving class to learn how to properly drive our new buses,” Matthews said.
Along with new buses, the Bear Line route signs will also be rebranded. Fresh new colors and Boomer Bear will now be found on bus stop signages.
New express route
In an effort to improve students’ daily commute, the university has created a new express route, the Rainbow Route.
This route will take students across campus in half the time. Students can find Rainbow Route stops next to an unmissable star-studded rainbow road.
Rubber meets the road
Like all roads, they have an ending. Sadly, this road led to our annual April Fools’ Day prank. We hope your day is full of shenanigans.
While you’re here, don’t forget to download the free Passio GO app from the AppStore or Google Play store.
Also, thank your Bear Line drivers. They work hard to ensure students arrive safely and on time each and every day.
