The Lunar New Year is an important holiday celebrated by many Asian communities worldwide. This year, which is the Year of the Rabbit, the celebration starts Jan. 22.

Dr. Weirong Yan-Schaefer, senior instructor in the department of world languages and cultures at Missouri State University, explains to Best Colleges why this celebration matters and how you can celebrate it.
