Earlier last month, members of Missouri State University’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi received high honors at the Missouri Valley Regional Best Practices Competition in Omaha, Nebraska.
Beta Alphi Psi (BAP) is an international honors organization for finance students and professionals. The organization has over 300 chapters on various college and university campuses and hosts yearly competitions to promote community service, provide real world experience and cultivate excellence and achievement in members.
Missouri State students placed first in all three categories of the Best Practices competition:
- Madison Clark and Brandon Holman, Leadership and Management category
- Veronica Shultz and Brandon Smith, Alignment of Officer Activities category
- Tara Randles and Tanner Courtney, Good or Great Competition category
Award Details
For receiving first place, each of the three teams will receive $500 for their chapter, as well as an invitation to the National Beta Alpha Psi annual meeting in August where the top teams of each regional competition will compete for a first place trophy and a prize of $1,500 for their chapter in Baltimore, Maryland.
Missouri State competitors were supported by BAP president Elizabeth Sivill and vice president Clint Caselman, along with faculty advisors Dr. George Schmelzle and Dr. Carl Keller.
To become a member of Beta Alpha Psi, students must attend an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited program, be among the top 35 percent of their university class or have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
