Established in 1982, Missouri State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center is part of a nationwide network that helps small business owners become successful.
Over the past 5 years, the center has worked with more than 600 businesses in 16 southwest Missouri counties helping them to:
- Create thousands of jobs and retain thousands of others
- Increase sales by 66 million dollars
- Acquire more than 58 million dollars in loans and investments
- And get 89 new businesses started.
In 2013, the United States Small Business Administration awarded the SBTDC the “Region 7 Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award.” It was one of only 10 awards given nationally.
In its new home in The eFactory, the SBTDC — under the direction of Rayanna Anderson — also was honored by the Springfield Business Journal as the “2013 Business Advocate of the Year.”
