Maroon Minute honors Ad Team

Last spring, Missouri State University’s Ad Team, a student-run advertising agency, was one of six colleges to participate in the national AT&T Campus Challenge.

The students, who are supervised by Dr. Melissa Burnett, created and implemented a marketing plan for AT&T mobility services and “It Can Wait,” a campaign to end texting and driving.

The Ad Team won first place in the contest for its “inTEXTicated” campaign, which blended events, social media, advertising and public relations to teach students about the effects of texting while driving.

Maroon Minutes highlight Missouri State University’s points of pride: the accomplishments of our faculty, staff, students and supporters. Each Maroon Minute first airs during a home football or basketball game.
