Campus recreation receives honors for innovation, creativity
The NIRSA Creative Excellence Awards recognize collegiate recreation members for innovative approaches to marketing, media and design.
“Missouri State has been recognized nationally for their efforts in the promotion of campus recreation,” said Cynthia Barnett, director of campus recreation at MSU. “We have already received several architectural awards for the design of the Foster Recreation Center in the ‘un-built’ category and have just been selected for a 2013 Recreation Management Innovative Architecture and Design Award. The Foster Recreation Center will be featured in the May 2013 issue of Recreation Management.”
Missouri State received first place in the website category for its campus recreation website and tied for second place in the comprehensive brochure category for its MSU Campus Recreation Brochure.
“These awards were collaborative efforts with web and new media (website) and publications (comprehensive brochure),” said Barnett. “With the innovative ideas and expertise of web and new media and publications, we now have a unified look to campus recreation.”
