University celebrates grand opening service-learning, volunteer center
At Missouri State University, students can integrate community volunteerism through academic courses or volunteer in a more traditional fashion. On Jan. 30, the office of citizenship and service learning (CASL) and the Center for Leadership and Volunteerism will celebrate the opening of a combined office in Plaster Student Union Room 131. The combined office space will allow students to sign up for volunteer opportunities or service learning in one location and will also allow community agencies to visit one location to arrange for volunteer assistance.
Kathy Nordyke, director of CASL, discusses the ways Missouri State students are engaged in the community.
