Faculty receives grant for health education center expansion

Jennifer Alsup, executive director for the Southwest Missouri Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at Missouri State University, received a grant of $341,837 from the Missouri Foundation for Health for a Joplin expansion.

In partnership with Freeman Health System, a satellite office of the AHEC will be opened in Joplin on the Freeman campus. The grant will help meet the needs of rural and underserved populations in Barton, Jasper, Newton and McDonald counties.
