Sonda Ropp Reinartz named new bookstore director
Sonda Ropp Reinartz has been named the new director of the Missouri State University Bookstore. She will begin her duties Jan. 15.
“We were very pleased with the number of experienced and qualified applicants for the bookstore director position,” said Dr. Earle Doman, vice president for student affairs. “Based on her background and campus interviews, Sonda surfaced as our clear choice. Her many references confirmed our evaluation.
“We are excited and looking forward to having Sonda join our bookstore management team. We are confident that her leadership skills and experience will move our bookstore and affiliate operations forward.”
Reinartz’s appointment will be formally presented to the Board of Governors for approval at an upcoming meeting. Her starting salary will be $78,000.
Reinartz has worked as the bookstore manager for Augustana College since 2006. She previously worked as the manager at bookstores at Black Hawk College from 1996-2006, Hiram College from 1991-1994 and Case Western Reserve University from 1989-91. Reinartz also worked in bookstore management at University of Iowa and as an employee of Follett College Stores at George Washington University, SUNY Buffalo and Phoenix College.
“I am very excited to join the Missouri State University community,” said Reinartz. “I look forward to working with bookstore staff to continue to serve the MSU students.”
Reinartz replaces Mark Brixey, who resigned Aug. 17 amid controversy surrounding missing funds at the bookstore.
