Carrie’s Cafe teaches business, restaurant, cooking skills to students

Running a restaurant successfully takes more than just a few good recipes. It takes business sense, creativity, commitment and so much more. The students that run Carrie’s Café at Missouri State University each semester get a chance to learn all of the steps while enrolled in this restaurant administration class, and they get first-hand experience. Abbe Ehlers, senior instructor of hospitality and restaurant administration at Missouri State, shares about the commitment it takes from the students in the class to get the café running each semester.

Carrie’s Café will be open Oct. 23-Dec. 4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. It is located on the 4th floor of the Professional Building, at the corner of Kimbrough and Cherry. Free parking is available during lunch hours in lots 35 and 37.
