New book explores history behind the walls of the state pen
The Missouri State Penitentiary once held many prominent prisoners, including Pretty Boy Floyd, Sonny Liston and James Earl Ray. Through the stories of these prisoners and so many others, Jamie Rasmussen, adjunct instructor of criminology and criminal justice at Missouri State University, has compiled a historical view of what it was like inside the walls of the penitentiary during its 170 year history.
Her new book, “The Missouri State Penitentiary: 170 Years Inside the Walls,” is now available on Amazon.
