Origins, significance of Ramadan explained by religious studies professor

The Islamic tradition of Ramadan – a time of daylight fasting for Muslims – occurs during the ninth month of the lunar Islamic calendar and is being observed currently. Dr. Jack Llewellyn, head of the religious studies department at Missouri State University, explains the significance of this religious observance.
