Missouri State University Night to be held in Lebanon

Evening event follows golf tournament
Monday, June 18, 2012

The 29th annual Missouri State University Night at Lebanon will be held at 6 p.m. June 25 at the Kenneth E. Cowan Civic Center, 500 E. Elm, Lebanon. The event will include a barbecue dinner, silent auction, remarks from Interim President Clif Smart, and conversational interviews with athletics summer tour participants head coaches Terry Allen, Holly Hesse, Paul Lusk and Nyla Milleson. Art Hains, the voice of the Missouri State Bears, will emcee.

Laclede County students attending Missouri State this fall as freshmen, transfer and returning students will be recognized. This year’s scholarship recipients, Clint Allen, Kasey Ayers, Danielle Hamilton, Bailey McCleary, Alexa Wilson and Jackson Zwikelmaier, will also be honored.

“The Lebanon alumni chapter is pleased to award scholarships to six students from our community,” said Gib Adkins, Missouri State alumni chapter member. “Alumni living in Lebanon are proud of the Missouri State education they received, and it is a point of pride to provide financial assistance and encouragement to students who are preparing for their futures.”

The silent auction will include select Missouri State athletics game tickets, BearWear, unique Missouri State items, Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts tickets and more.

The evening event follows the annual afternoon golf tournament, where area golfers are invited to participate in the four-person scramble tournament. The scramble begins at 12:30 p.m. with a shot-gun start at GreatLife Golf & Fitness in Lebanon. Entry fees are $225 for teams or $75 per individual. Teams are comprised of three golfers and will be joined by a Missouri State athletics staff member, coach or dignitary.

Proceeds from the golf tournament and the silent auction will support the Lebanon Alumni Chapter Scholarship fund.
