Be sweet to your loved one, protect their heart
For Valentine’s Day, nothing could be better than a box of chocolates – or could it? Natalie Allen, instructor of dietetics at Missouri State University, says that thinking of your sweetheart’s heart health could be the best gift for the occasion.
“If you’re going to buy your sweetheart candy for Valentine’s Day, the best option would be dark chocolate,” said Allen. “The other option is if you are cooking a meal for someone on Valentine’s Day, there are a lot of great red foods that have lots of nutrition.”
