Assistant director publishes book review
Patrick Grayshaw, assistant director for volunteer programs in the office of student engagement at Missouri State University, recently had a book review published on the website of the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs (NCLP). In it he reviews “Deeper Learning in Leadership” by Dr. Denny Roberts, a leading scholar in the field of leadership education.
“My review is a critical review of the book, the purpose and usage of the book and the highlights of each chapter, along with recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of the text,” said Grayshaw. “The NCLP hosts a collection of reviews of leadership books, which allow leadership educators to choose the best books for their personal collection or to use with students in their leadership programs.”
Roberts’ book is designed to show how leadership potential can be both broadened and deepened in colleges and universities. He proposes a new approach to learning about leadership development in higher education that recognizes innovative strategies are needed for the increasingly complex issues faced in both higher education and beyond. The full review may be read free online on the NCLP website.
