New article discusses dealing with group tension
Dr. Gloria Galanes, professor in communication, had an article published in the November-December issue of Communication Studies. The article, “Dialectical Tensions of Small Group Leadership,” examines how effective group leaders describe and address groups’ needs to balance opposing processes, such as attending both to task and relational needs.
In addition, Galanes’ book, “Socially Constructing Communication,” was published by Hampton Press. The book was co-edited with Wendy Leeds-Hurwitz, University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
