MOAHEAD appoints new vice-president

Tabitha Haynes, assistant director of disability services at Missouri State University was recently elected vice president of the Missouri Affiliate of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (MOAHEAD). The organization works with students with disabilities who are attending public or private higher education institutions.

“This will be a great opportunity for me to continue the challenge of promoting positive change in the field on a regional level,” said Haynes, who has served as secretary and web director on the MOAHEAD board. “I am really excited about the opportunity to serve as vice president for MOAHEAD.”

Haynes has worked with people with disabilities in various settings since 1989. She is currently serving as chair-elect for Staff Senate and chair of the Staff Senate Public Affairs Committee at Missouri State University. In the community, she is an advocate for the Victim Center and Court Appointed Special Advocates.
