Students fix real world programming problems in competition
The computer programming team from Missouri State University and top collegiate programmers from surrounding areas will compete in a “battle of the brains” Oct. 24 on the Southwest Baptist University campus during the 34th Annual Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) International Collegiate Programming Contest.
The IBM-sponsored ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, the most prestigious computer programming competition of its kind, will include tens of thousands of university students during its preliminary rounds through December. Teams of students are challenged to use their programming skills and rely on their mental endurance to solve complex, real world problems under five-hour deadline.
One hundred teams from approximately 90 countries on six continents will earn coveted spots at the contest’s World Finals, hosted by Harbin Engineering University in Harbin, China.
