Professor awarded grant to survey army training site
Dr. Lynn Robbins, professor of biology at Missouri State University, received a $28,087 grant from the Missouri Army National Guard. Robbins received the grant for the “Acoustic and Mist Net Surveys for Bats with Emphasis on Endangered Bats from Macon” project, which is designed to determine the presence or absence of the rare Indiana bat on the training site.
“If they are found to be present, we will determine areas of presence and areas of activity in order to lessen any potential impact on the species that might occur as part of the training activities on the site,” said Robbins.
